Winnipeg police search for 3 people after death of man found on sidewalk 1 year ago

Winnipeg police have released images of a group of people they say might be connected to the killing of a 24-year-old man last fall.

Joseph Campbell was “grievously assaulted” on Keenleyside Street, in the city’s East Elmwood area, around 11:20 p.m. on Oct. 14, 2023, police said in a news release on Tuesday.

Police previously said they received a report about a man on a sidewalk that day and found Campbell between Manhattan Avenue and Kent Road. He was taken to hospital and later died.

Three men were seen in the area and are persons of interest in the case, police said.

Police believe there are people with information about the case, and the Campbell family would like the investigation to be solved to bring peace and closure.

Anyone with information is asked to call the homicide unit at 204-986-6508 or can leave an anonymous tip at Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477) or winnipegcrimestoppers.org
