Police are warning the public after a woman was sexually harassed at knifepoint by a man in Winnipeg’s Maples neighbourhood on Friday night.

Police are warning the public after a woman was sexually harassed at knifepoint by a man in Winnipeg’s Maples neighbourhood on Friday night.

Officers were called to respond to the incident at about 10 p.m., after the woman in her 20s was approached by a man she didn’t know while walking near Mandalay Drive and Rolmount Road, police said in a news release on Tuesday.

The man asked the woman for directions, and during their conversation, he pointed a knife at her and said sexually explicit things.

She pushed the man away to escape, and sustained a minor injury from the knife.

The adult man has dark hair and was wearing dark clothing and a black surgical mask.

Anyone with information, including any home surveillance in this area, is asked to call the sex crimes unit at 204-986-6245.
