Provincial offices in downtown Winnipeg building temporarily closed due to flooding

The Manitoba provincial government temporarily closed offices at a downtown Winnipeg building due to flooding on Wednesday afternoon.

A sign posted on the Canada Building at 352 Donald St., just north of Ellice Avenue, said it was closed because of “building issues.”

In a news release, the province said the issue was flooding, and that the Manitoba Housing Applications and Payments office and the Maintenance Enforcement Program office in the building will remain closed until further notice.

For urgent Manitoba Housing matters, people can contact the housing communications centre at 204-945-4663 or toll-free at 1-800-661-4663.

In-person services for the Maintenance Enforcement Program and Family Resolution Services, which include making maintenance enforcement payments and child support services, have been affected by the closure, the province said.

More information is available on provincial website about payment options and services and on accessing Family Resolution Services, the province said.

Manitobans who need to visit the offices in person are advised to call or check online to see whether the building has reopened.
