Hydro crews work to restore power in parts of St. James in Winnipeg

More than 4,000 Manitoba Hydro customers in and around the St. James area in Winnipeg were without power Sunday afternoon as crews dealt with a pole fire in Oakdale.

More than 4,000 Manitoba Hydro customers in and around the St. James area in Winnipeg were without power Sunday afternoon as crews dealt with a pole fire in Oakdale.

The utility tweeted at around 3:30 p.m. there would be a short emergency outage affecting customers in the Kirkfield and Crestview area as it switched power lines to isolate the damaged pole.

Manitoba Hydro said it will take a couple hours to fully restore power for all customers, with restoration likely to happen between 7 and 8 p.m.
