Stretch of Main Street blocked in Winnipeg after person found seriously injured

A person was found suffering serious injuries early Thursday near Main Street and Mayfair Avenue in Winnipeg, prompting several streets in the area to be closed as police investigate.

A person was found suffering serious injuries early Thursday near Main Street and Mayfair Avenue in Winnipeg, prompting several streets in the area to be closed for an investigation.

Police were called to the area, just across the Assiniboine River from The Forks, around 3:30 a.m

Traffic is blocked along the southbound lanes of Main between Broadway and Mayfair as well as northbound Harkness Avenue at Mayfair.

Drivers are urged to avoid the area and to expect delays on adjacent streets.
