A high school in Toronto’s Mount Pleasant East neighbourhood is closed Wednesday, as police investigate the validity of a bomb threat.

In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, Toronto police say Northern Secondary School, a Toronto District School Board school near Mount Pleasant Road and Eglinton Avenue E., received a bomb threat by email.

Police attended the school to investigate just after 7 a.m. Wednesday. They say no students were inside at the time.

The school remains in lockdown, and police say it will be closed for the duration of the day.

A TDSB spokesperson says classes are also cancelled and will not be taking place virtually.
