Westbound Gardiner Expressway closed in Etobicoke due to crash: police
All westbound lanes of the Gardiner Expressway were closed Monday morning at the Park Lawn Road exit in Etobicoke due to a crash investigation, police say.
Toronto police said it responded around 5:30 a.m. to reports of a two vehicle collision on the westbound section of the highway.
While responding at the scene, a Toronto Fire truck was struck by a third vehicle that wasn’t involved in the initial crash, police said.
The man driving the vehicle that struck the fire truck was transported to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries, police and paramedics said.
Traffic is being diverted due to the closure, and police are warning drivers travelling in the area to expect delays.
