Toronto police identify 16-year-old boy killed in Etobicoke shooting

Toronto police have identified a 16-year-old boy who died in hospital following a shooting in an Etobicoke apartment building on Tuesday evening.

Isaiah Fogah, of Toronto, was one of two males shot and wounded in the building on Capri Road, near The East Mall and Rathburn Road, police said in a news release Wednesday.

Officers were called to the area around 5:30 p.m. They say the other male suffered serious injuries.

Police said in the release that when officers arrived, they found the pair with gunshot wounds. Police began to perform life-saving measures until Toronto paramedics arrived.

Paramedics took both to hospital, where Fogah was pronounced dead. He is the city’s 2nd homicide victim of the year.

The shooting involved several floors of the building, Duty Insp. Phillip Sinclair told reporters near the scene Tuesday night.

Sinclair said people were arriving home at the time of the shooting. He said two masked suspects exited the building and fled.

Police did not provide suspect descriptions in the release.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
