Police appeal for witnesses after Markham pedestrian struck, killed
York Regional Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed a fatal collision in Markham on Dec. 19 to come forward.
A 53-year-old man was walking near Markham Road and Golden Avenue after 7 a.m. when he was struck by a vehicle, police said in a release Monday.
Police say he was taken to the hospital and then airlifted to a trauma centre, where he died one day later.
Police say the driver remained on scene and is co-operating with the investigation.
“No charges have been laid at this time,” police said in the release.
The investigation is ongoing. York police are appealing for dash cam footage, as well as witnesses.
