Ontario reports spike in new COVID-19 cases after one-day drop

TORONTO — Ontario is reporting more than 400 new cases of COVID-19 after a significant drop in the daily case count just the day before.

Health officials confirmed 409 new cases of the novel coronavirus on Thursday. It comes after Ontario reported 335 new infections on Wednesday.

Ontario Health Minister Christine Elliott reported that 151 of the new cases are in Toronto, 46 are in Peel Region and 82 are in Ottawa.
