One person ‘without vital signs’ following Vaughan collision: police

One person is “without vital signs” following a two-vehicle collision in Vaughan on Sunday afternoon, say police.

York Regional Police (YRP) said in a post on X at around 1:45 p.m. that the intersection of Dufferin Street and Major Mackenzie Drive West is closed in all directions due to the crash.

Earlier today, YRP told CTV News Toronto that a passenger was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries after emergency crews were called to the scene around 1:17 p.m.

Further details about the collision are not immediately available.

The major collision unit is looking into the crash.

The intersection is expected to remain closed for some time as police investigate.

Police are urging drivers to take alternate routes.
