Amber Alert cancelled after 2 children allegedly abducted in Kitchener, Ont., found safe

Waterloo Regional Police Service (WRPS) representatives say two young children who were allegedly abducted from Kitchener, Ont., have been found safe after Ontario Provincial Police issued an Amber Alert.

OPP first issued the alert just after 11:30 p.m. ET on Monday. Police said it was believed they were travelling with their mother and a male, issuing a description of the vehicle they may have been in.

At 12:10 a.m. on Tuesday, WRPS issued an update on Twitter saying the children were found “as a result” of the Amber Alert.

A Waterloo Regional Police spokesperson told Global News emergency crews were called to the area of River Road East and Kinzie Avenue, near Fairway Road North, on Monday after two males were stabbed.

The spokesperson said two males were arrested in connection with the stabbings. It was alleged the children were taken from that area.

Meanwhile, the WRPS update also said a female has been arrested and that the investigation is ongoing.
