9-year-old boy dead after crash on QEW in Oakville: OPP
A single-vehicle crash on the Queen Elizabeth Way in Oakville has left a nine-year-old child dead, Ontario Provincial Police say.
The crash happened in the westbound lanes of the highway near Bronte Road early Monday morning.
Police said three occupants were inside the vehicle at the time of the collision. The driver sustained critical injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment. The child was also rushed to hospital in critical condition but later died.
The westbound lanes of the highway were closed for the collision but have since reopened.
