One person was killed in a crash on Highway 400 early Thursday and provincial police say they are looking for the occupants of one vehicle who left the collision scene on foot.
The crash happened around 5:10 a.m. in the southbound lanes approaching Highway 401.
Police are still trying to determine exactly how many vehicles were involved, said OPP Const. Taylor Konkle, as a number of other drivers stopped at the scene to assist people who had been hurt.
One person was pronounced dead on scene. The occupants of one vehicle left the crash on foot, Konkle said.
Police didn’t have a description of those people but Konkle urged anyone who may have noticed anything unusual in the area around the time of the collision to call the Toronto OPP.
The southbound Highway 400 was closed at Finch Avenue for the investigation.
