RCMP homicide investigators are probing the death of a 54-year-old woman who was found in a northwestern Manitoba home days after suffering an injury.

RCMP were called to a home on Sapotaweyak Cree Nation, about 90 kilometres northeast of Swan River, on July 8 after a report of a sudden death, according to an RCMP news release on Friday.

A 54-year-old woman was found dead in the home. An autopsy found she died as a result of an injury sustained days earlier, RCMP said.

Her death is now being treated as a homicide, with RCMP major crimes services taking over the investigation.
