Police investigate shooting in northeast Calgary that sent man to hospital

A man in his 20s was rushed to hospital Wednesday morning after police were called to a northeast Calgary street for reports of a shooting.

Police said officers were called to the 6500 block of Huntridge Hill Northeast at 6:45 a.m. When they arrived, they found an injured man who appeared to have been shot.

“Investigators believe the shooting occurred at the same location where the man was found, as evidence indicated a nearby residence had been struck, which is believed to be associated to the victim,” police said in a news release. “No one inside the residence was harmed.

“The man was transported to hospital in life-threatening condition, but has since been upgraded to stable condition.”

Police said investigators believe the shooting was targeted. They said no arrests had been made as of Wednesday afternoon.
