The province is adding 300 weekly GO train trips to routes throughout the Greater Toronto Area, in what Metrolinx is billing as the largest expansion of train service in more than a decade.
Premier Doug Ford announced the changes at a morning news conference in Milton, Ont., alongside Transportation Minister Prabmeet Sarkaria.
Voters in Milton will choose a new MPP in a byelection set for May 2.
The seat has been empty since former Ford cabinet minister Parm Gill resigned to run for the federal Conservative party.
