Senior assaulted on LRT train over the weekend: police
A senior was injured after an assault on an LRT train over the weekend.
Emergency crews were called to the Government Centre LRT platform around 1 p.m. on Saturday.
“It was reported to police via a call from LRT control staff to 911, that an assault had occurred on an LRT train,” Edmonton Police Service spokesman Scott Pattison confirmed in an email to CTV News Edmonton.
“An elderly female was assaulted by a male suspect, who fled the train prior to the members arrival.”
The woman suffered minor injuries.
Pattison says the motivation for the assault is unknown.
Police are investigating the assault.
