A 44-year-old man is dead after the motorcycle he was riding collided and a vehicle collided on Highway 7, just north of Winnipeg.

RCMP were called around 1 p.m. on Aug. 23 to the intersection of Highway 7 and Road 70 N., about midway between Winnipeg and Stony Mountain.

The motorcycle was heading north on the highway and collided with a westbound vehicle that was trying to cross the highway, police said.

The man was rushed to hospital but died from his injuries. The 75-year-old woman who was driving the other vehicle was not injured.

Police believe speed was a factor in the collision.

The investigation continues.
