Calgary police investigating parking lot hit-and-run that left 77-year-old woman hospitalized
Calgary police are looking into the circumstances of a hit-and-run collision that happened in a grocery store parking lot in the city’s southeast on Tuesday.
They are asking the public for help identifying a man they say has information related to the incident that occurred that afternoon around 1:35 p.m.
At that time, police said, a woman was walking across the parking lot with a shopping cart when a dark blue, two-door Chevrolet Cobalt with black rims reversed out of a west-facing parking stall, struck her and knocked her to the ground.
The vehicle fled the scene, police said.
The 77-year-old woman was transported to hospital following the incident with serious but non-life threatening injuries, but her condition is said to have deteriorated since.
Police are now looking to speak with a man who was in the area when the collision occurred. He is believed to have information that could help further the investigation.
Police said he was last seen wearing a black baseball hat with a white Toronto Blue Jays logo, sunglasses, a black jacket, a dark-coloured shirt with a white design on the front, dark-coloured jeans and black shoes.
Anyone with information about this incident, or who knows the identity of the man, or has dashcam or CCTV footage, is asked to contact police.
