Calgary police investigating ‘undetermined death’ after discovering body near the Bow River

A body was discovered on the south side of the Bow River on Sunday morning, prompting homicide detectives to launch an investigation.

An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday

A body was discovered on the south side of the Bow River on Sunday morning.

The Calgary police said in a release officials received reports of a body near the river around 10:45 a.m. On reaching the scene, officers discovered the body underneath the 14th Street bridge.

The cause of the death remains “undetermined” and the homicide unit has launched an investigation.

An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner .

The investigators are currently going through CCTV footage and talking to witnesses.

They’re also asking members of the public for help and requesting anyone with more information to contact them by calling 403-266-1234. Alternatively, an anonymous tip can be submitted to Crime Stoppers.
