Brandon police investigating possible arsons at landfill
The Brandon Police Service is investigating a string of potential arsons at the city’s landfill over the weekend.
Around 6:45 a.m. on Sunday, police received a report of a fire at the Eastview Landfill.
When officers got to the scene they found a large blaze in the dumping area. Brandon Fire and Emergency Services came to the landfill site and extinguished the fire.
Police note that two other reports of fires at the landfill came in on Friday and Saturday.
Officers said the suspect of these fires is male that regularly attends the landfill in the middle of the night wearing a headlamp and riding while riding a bike and pulling a trailer.
