Pedestrian seriously injured in hit-and-run collision in North York, police say

A 49-year-old man was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle in North York that fled the scene early Sunday morning. 

Toronto police were called about the collision at around 1:37 a.m. Sunday. 

Police say the pedestrian was in curb lane of Victoria Park Avenue, about 150 metres north of McNicoll Avenue, when he was hit by a vehicle travelling southbound. 

The driver of the vehicle did not remain at the scene, police say. 

Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or has security or dash cam footage of the area, to contact them or Crime Stoppers.
