Two drivers injured following two-vehicle collision on Highway 7 in Perth, Ont.

Two drivers have been injured following a two-vehicle collision that happened on Highway 7 in Perth Thursday afternoon, according to the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).
Police say they received a call shortly before 3:30 p.m. reporting the incident. When crews arrived at the scene, they found one driver was trapped in their vehicle. They were extricated by firefighters and transported to hospital by paramedics.
The second driver was also transported to hospital, police add.

The investigation is ongoing, and police are asking people to avoid the intersection of Highway 7 and Wilson Street in Perth due to the collision.
“Highway 7 eastbound is closed and westbound may be closed shortly. Some local traffic is being rerouted through the Mews Mall parking lot,” the OPP said in a post on X. “Full detour for Highway 7 eastbound traffic is up Highway 511 to Drummond Concession 7 which leads back to Highway 7.”
