‘It’s on us to make it right’: Interim TTC CEO apologizes for service issues
The interim CEO for the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) is apologizing for an increase in service disruptions over the past month.
“An apology is recognition that we’ve inconvenienced and disappointed our customers. It’s on us to make it right,” said Greg Percy in an interview with CP24 on Thursday.
In December, TTC users experienced several subway interruptions, including three in one week.
Issues ranged from the entirety of Line 1 being suspended during rush hour due to signal issues to emergency track repairs shutting down multiple stations for hours at a time.
Percy had apologized then too, and called it “unacceptable” and a “difficult day for TTC customers.”
Percy reiterated those previous remarks Thursday saying, “There’s a lot of inconveniences our customers have been putting up with. We will get those fixed in 2025.”
“We owe our customers great service.”
Percy did not clarify what the aforementioned fixes would be.
