Police identify victims of North York double shooting
Police say Ibrahim Handule, 26, and Deshawn Walters, 27, both from Toronto, died after being shot in the Jane Street and Driftwood Avenue area this week.
Investigators providing update about Jane Street and Driftwood Avenue incident Thursday afternoon
Toronto police have identified the two victims of a fatal shooting that happened in North York Tuesday afternoon.
In a news release issued Thursday, police said Ibrahim Handule, 26, and Deshawn Walters, 27, both from Toronto, died after being shot in the Jane Street and Driftwood Avenue area around 2:17 p.m.
Neighbourhood officers from 31 division found the two victims with injuries after hearing gunshots in the area, police say.
One person was declared dead at the scene, while the other was rushed to hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Toronto police investigators are slated to speak with reporters about the case later Thursday afternoon.
