Manitoba RCMP look for McCreary man reported last seen a week ago

Manitoba RCMP is asking for the public’s assistance in locating a 50-year-old man who was last seen leaving his home in McCreary last week. 

Derek Contois has been missing from his residence around 200 kilometres northwest of Winnipeg since Sept. 6, Ste. Rose du Lac RCMP were told Thursday afternoon. 

Contois is known to frequent Winnipeg and the town of Swan River, another 200 kilometres northwest of McCreary near the Saskatchewan border, police said in a news release Friday.

Police said Contois’s family is concerned about his well-being.

He is described as five feet, 10 inches tall and 220 pounds, RCMP said. He has short black hair and brown eyes, and was last seen wearing a white shirt with black track pants.
