A magnitude 4.6 earthquake strikes part of Quebec

A magnitude 4.6 earthquake shook Quebec early on Sunday morning.

Natural Resources Canada said the  earthquake struck at 5:43 a.m. 26 km north-west of Drummondville and was “lightly felt” in Drummondville, Trois-Rivières and Montreal.

The Canadian federal agency added that the earthquake occurred at a depth of 18 km.

The epicentre was located in Pierreville, in the Centre-du-Québec region.
